IRELAND`S HYMN-A TALE OF FREEDOM-A TRIBUTE TO MAURICE JARRE-DAVID LEAN

The films of David Lean had it all.Action, adventure ,spectacle. At the age of 10 i was introduced to his art with Laurence of Arabia. There i got bewitched by the music of Maurice Jarre.Later came other films and then Ryan`s Daughter. At those days Irish were not in good terms with the British. But the film was created. To my personal belief it is the milestone of both creators,LEAN and JARRE.The film was critised badly by the Academy and Lean was asked, what posesed him to make such a film. This criticism made Lean furious and he decided to withdraw and not to make a film for ten years. The music of Jarre is the best description of the wild nature of this troubled rock at the edge of Atlantic ocean. The introduction of the Irish cliffs and beaches with the sound of the birds`s songs is just magic.Apiece of music that already belongs to Eternity.ROBERT MITCHUM frustrated initialy of the film, used to write ironic letters to his daughter about it.Later on he used to write short letters saying....i `ll tel you about the film later,i am busy now.In the last letter he wrote. I AM LUCKY THAT I PARTICIPATED IN THIS MILESTONE.IT IS THE BEST THING I HAVE DONE.I DEDICATE IT TOU YOU. Dedicated to my daughter ARHONDIA who lives in Dublin Ireland CLICK BELOW ON THE SOUNDTRACK`S SLEEVES FOR BIG IMAGE
