DENNIS YOST AND THE CLASSICS IV IN MEMORY OF DENNIS

Musician. He was a founding member and lead vocalist of the 1960s music quintet The Classics IV. They are best known for the top ten hits "Spooky" (1968), "Stormy" (1968) and "Traces" (1969). Born in Detroit, Yost was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. During the early 1960s while in high school, he joined the group The Echoes with whom he played the drums for. He would later help form the group The Classics eventually settling on the name The Classics IV. Among their other memorable songs are "Everyday With You Girl" (1969) and "What Am I Crying For?" (1972). The group was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1993.
