In the special edition of the film 2 DVD`S Blake Edwards reveals that after the A SHOT IN THE DARK both him and Sellers decided never to work together again. Edwards explains : Μaybe he would not excuse me for the fact that i made him famous, more than he was and contributed to his financial rise.He told me ,i shall never come back to Hollywood and i will only make films like Doctor Strangelove,which he thought it was his masterpiece,and probably was.
Blake wanted to make a silent movie a comedy, so he went to the Mirisch Corporation where he was employed and told the about it. He said he would like Peter Sellers in it.and that the best way to convince him is by talking to him,which he did.He agreed and they went like the dog with the cat till the film finished.After a day of shooting he discovered he couldn`t do it.He needed to talk in the film.So we have the fantastic Indian accent that remains in history.More when you buy the DVD.

Το The Party είναι η κλασική περίπτωση ταινίας χωρίς κάποια σοβαρή υπόθεση που στηρίζεται γιά την επιτυχία της στο ταλέντο των συντελεστών της. Ηταν τέτοιο το ταλέντο αυτών των ανθρώπων, ώστε σήμερα, σχεδόν μισό αιώνα μετά, ακούμε Hrundi Bakshi και σκάμε στα γέλια!
